FCAP is the only statewide manager advocacy organization dedicated to promoting professionalism in Florida’s community association industry. Through information sharing and educational opportunities, networking, participation in roundtables, retreats, and the statewide FCAP Conference, managers are enabled and encouraged to reach their full potential in their careers.
CFCAM - Certified Florida Community Association Manager - is a Florida professional designation awarded to licensed Florida managers who have completed a rigorous training program, Florida Advanced CAM Studies, and have agreed to conduct business according to a strict code of ethics.

Florida Advanced CAM Studies
Requirements for the professional designation include completion of Florida Advanced CAM Studies, a practical, hands-on 40-hour/5-day course covering information in the following areas.
CLASSES
- Day 1: People and Procedures
a. Introduction, CA structure, boardsmanship, meetings, owner relations, communication skills
b. Assessing staffing levels, interviewing and hiring, records, terminations
- Day 2: Administrative and Financial
a. Office, records, bookkeeping, security and confidentiality
b. Budgets and reserves
c. Insurance
- Day 3: Practical Management 1
a. Vendors, vendor relations, bids and bidding, ethics
b. Preparedness - fire safety, moisture and leaks, elevators, disaster, security
- Day 4: Practical Management 2
a. Structure and maintenance, concrete, roofing, AC
b. Exterior, paint, pools, asphalt, landscaping
- Day 5: Legal
a. Contracts
b. Legal responsibilities and liability
c. Misc topics, Q&A

The four steps to certification are:
- Verification
All information on the comprehensive CFCAM application is verified including license and complaints against license, other licenses held, employment history, and personal references.
- Advanced Learning and Written Exam
After completion of the Florida Advanced CAM Studies in-class lectures, a take-home written exam must be completed and returned. A passing grade is required for certification.
- Agreement to do business ethically
Managers with a CFCAM designation agree to do business according to a strict Code of Ethics.
- Board Review and Recommendation
All CFCAM applicants are evaluated by the independent CFCAM Review Board. CFCAM designation is granted upon the recommendation of the board.
